Meet Rhae

Rhaenys Targaryen was born on July 7th to Aemon and Jocelyn Targaryen. Rhaenys was an only child and was showered with love from her parents and her family, since she had no siblings she was often found with her cousins, Viserys and his younger brother Daemon. They were like her brothers and she had a sisterly relationship and bond with the boys.Rhaenys was a very active and smart child, adventurous, she always spoke her mind and was extremely observant which came in handy as she grew older. As any child she was up to mischief during her young and teenage years, often leading her cousins into trouble not that any of them seemed to complain.She excelled in school, always with high grades, and was one of the professor’s favorites. With her determination and knowing that there was a possibility to have to take after the family business once her father passed, Rhaenys decided to become a lawyer. It was during that time she came to meet Corlys Velaryon, she found herself extremely intrigued by the man, there was this mystery about him, well spoken with plenty of adventures himself the connection was made rather quickly. The two become best friends first and Aemon actually liked the Velaryon man, finding someone else to have deep conversations with.As the friendship turned into a relationship there was no surprise from her family, it wasn’t just her parents that took a liking to Corlys, her grandfather and her cousins did too. He easily became a member of the family. Her wedding day was one of her happiest only matched by the birth of her children Laena and Laenor.Upon her father’s death, the legacy of the family should have been passed on to her, and eventually, she would pass it on to her children, however that never came to happen as the members of the family and those who had invested in her father’s legacy didn’t seem that such a position of power should go to a woman. The place was given to her cousin Viserys and yet that didn’t change the relationship that Rhaenys had with her cousin.While Rhaenys moved on from the matter, her husband was the one that seemed to be more offended about it, their marriage had brought financial and business opportunities to both her family and her husband’s family but the relationship was always based on love and mutual respect. As arranged marriages were still something that could happen within her family when a business opportunity came around. However, that hadn’t been their case.As she became a mother, Rhaenys stopped practicing, deciding to stay at home in Driftmark and look after her daughter and one year later her son. She was a very present mother, always around for her children and family, never missing a milestone in her children’s lives. Corlys' work made him travel a lot which made her the matriarch of the Velaryon family. She returned to practice when her children became teenagers, with their own lives and no longer needing their mother around, Rhaenys got herself a new office and is considered one of the best lawyers from Westeros which in turn keeps her busy enough and with plenty of travel on her own side.Still, she makes sure to always have time for her family, her children, and her husband with whom she shares a special connection and relationship. She also visits her cousin Viserys and Daemon and they have their usual gatherings. There are times they can go without seeing each other for months but they still keep in touch. Her involvement in charities and still being a Targaryen often places her in the public eye, making headlines, giving interviews, and even sharing red carpet moments with her husband.Rhaenys supports her children no matter what, she is well aware of her son’s preference and supports him no matter what, yet due to their family names and being in the public eye, she is well aware that her husband has told their son to keep his preferences behind closed doors. Laena on the other hand is almost a younger version of Rhaenys, she sees so much of her in her daughter, the same determination and fire. There is nothing this woman wouldn’t do for her family and those who she loves.Rhaenys Velaryon is the perfect combination of Fire, Blood, Sea, and Storms.
